Das Ziel ist es, nicht nur die Schönheit vergangener Epochen wiederzugeben, sondern auch die Türen für zeitgenössische Kunst zu öffnen. Die Auktion am 31.01.2024 steht ganz unter dem Stern der Malerei, den der Fokus soll direkt mehr auf Lebende und junge, zeitgenössische Künstler gelenkt werden. Das Auktionshaus möchte damit auch etwas Neues ausprobieren – deshalb finden sich zwischen bereits etablierten Namen auch aufstrebende Künstler, bei denen die künstlerische Entwicklung noch nicht abgeschlossen ist.

This tropical paradise, home to indigenous people deeply connected to nature, provided a unique setting where traditions are upheld, and even special events see individuals adorned in traditional attire, leaving no footprint behind.

It’s been eight years since Toomas Altnurme, an international artist with Estonian roots, relocated to the United Arab Emirates. In addition to being an active artist, he is a lecturer of fine arts at one of the oldest universities in the United Arab Emirates, located in Al Ain. Five years ago, he organized the first Estonian Art Month in the UAE, bringing together the two different cultures. This year, Altnurme again took the initiative and revived this cultural bridge. The Estonian Art Month culminated with an exhibition held at the Art Hub Gallery of the World Trade Centre in the country’s capital Abu Dhabi.

Im November 2021 beherbergt das Art Hub in Abu Dhabi acht estnische Künstler, die eingeladen wurden, in der Residenz Al Khateem des Art Hub zu arbeiten. Sie erkunden einen Monat lang die Kultur und Landschaft der Emirate: Katrin Karu, Raivo Kelomees, Toomas Kuusing, Kerttu Siplane, Einar Vene, Hannes Võrno, die Musikerin Emma Johanna Lepasoo und Toomas Altnurme sind bei der Ausstellungseröffnung anwesend.

The Estonian artist Toomas Altnurme was born in 1973, lives and works in the United Arab Emirates. He was able to gain experience at over 300 exhibitions, in a few days he will be part of the ART Symposium 2021 in Paris.
